The Ethiopian Empire in Brief and Challenges It is Facing
It is becoming extremely difficult to stitch together the loosely glued social fabrics of the Ethiopian empire that was brought to its todays disgruntled geo-political shape after the conquest and colonial expansion of the Amhara King Menelik II – following Berlins 1880s conference of scramble for Africa. The indicated Amhara king was the ideological partner of the Berlin conference of Scramble for Africa although the current nostalgic Amhara expansionist Fascists argue he was rather unifier of the empire- the account this writer strongly disagrees based on facts. Ever since, the empire that has been brought together by violence and force remain exhibiting irreconcilable and diverging opinions, polarised ideas and beliefs – predominately due to the failure of the Amhara elites inspired colonial system.
Apparently, the Ethiopian empire that hosts over 80 different nations with their sets of ideals, moral and ideological beliefs and interpretations with varying socio-economic arrangements can be indeed a challenge to any experienced political architects sitting at the helm of upper power echelons let alone the obdurately opinionated Amhara fascists who find it difficult to assert the irrefutable fact laid down in front of them. Such a failure coupled with the lack of fair, accommodating, far reaching and unifying leadership and political arrangement under clear politico-cultural and socio-economic framework that aims at addressing the needs and aspirations of those whose expectations are as divergent as their cultural and ideological variations in the Ethiopian empire; indeed, has proved to be a threat to the ideals of nation building since its creation.
The EPRDF and Its Acknowledgement of the Nations Needs
The above key demands of the subjects were identified, clearly defined, and understood by TPLFs then leadership who brought these burning matters to the round-table discussion immediately after defeating Dergs brutal regime mid-1991. With their all inadequacies, the TPLFs leadership in principle aimed at addressing the indicated centurys old yearnings of nations and nationalities for self-rule, rights to dignity and developing own culture and languages that were all denied to them by the occupying Amhara Fascists after their king Menelik IIs expansion of 1880s that has conquered and colonised the lands of then independent African kingdoms. The TPLF and the other nationalist forces including OLF, SLM, ONLF and various liberations fronts in principle agreed with the indicated beliefs thus formed an umbrella coalition known as the Ethiopian Peoples Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF).
Under the indicated beliefs, the EPRDF has developed a legal instrument whose core objective is laying down a foundation for the political settlement that sets out clear parameters to enable all nations in Ethiopian empire to live side by side equally and harmoniously under ethnic based federal political arrangement without demanding right to Decolonisation from Amhara fascists colonial rule; albeit the constitution clearly sets out rights of nations to self-determination up to cessation in its article 39. It has been unanimously agreed that these are the only way forward for remaining together as equal partners in a multination empire.
Nations and nationalities of the empire making up the EPRDF believed that; unless such a political settlement is put in place with legal instrument- Constitution; the demands of nations and nationalities for self-rule will continue by creating uncertainty and instability with further economic and political ramifications. Therefore, the subjects have unanimously approved the current constitution in 1995 except for Amhara elites. Although the constitution was not fully implemented by EPRDF, it has however legally given nations and nationalities rights to develop their culture and languages, govern their own regions. Doing so has further given an impetus to nations who otherwise were imprisoned in and obliged to stick to the political arrangements under the colonial framework that emphasis the concept of One Language-[Amharic]; One Culture- [Amhara Culture], One Religion- [Orthodox religion [; and One Belief in being an Ethiopian-[Amhara elites assertion on being a true Ethiopian].
The EPRDF that was inspired by the oppressed nations to address their needs has legally and officially denounced the indicated notion of One-Culture-One-Language-One-Religion. The EPRDF instead pushed with the new settlement under the framework of the constitution that ensures the equality of all citizens in the aspects of their rights to politically and economically managing their own affairs, developing their cultures, languages, and ways of lives.
With its all inadequacies and improper handling of and inconsistency with its implementations of the constitution; besides, the EPRDF used the constitution as milestone and supreme law of the country until its demise of early 2018 following the Oromo (Qeerroo/Qaarree) led four years revolution culminated in its downfall.
The Hijacked Political Change of Post April 2018 by Amhara Fascist Expansionists
Ironically, as indicated above, during the entire 27 years tenure of the EPRDFs authoritarian regime, predominately the unsatisfied people were the elites and intelligentsia of Amhara who have remained discretely plotting to grab the opportunity of returning to throne with all possible means. They yearned for the return of their old days glories. The indicated hegemony they wish it to return is blamed for dehumanising and depersonalising of the subjects and to date the subjects vehemently reject its return. Apparently, their hegemony has relegated the subjects to a second citizenship in their own lands whilst the colonisers expropriate their resources and lands.
The Amhara elites have therefore considered EPRDF and ethno-centrist nationalists as an obstacle to their ambitions and the fundamental enemies of the empire and its future survival. Therefore, they walked on all possible avenues to undermine the ideals of nations rights to self-determination instead demanding for the abolition of the constitution for them to be able to return to their old days colonial glory. To achieve obdurate objectives of wishing to be on the throne of fascism and superiority; they have also used all possible means of obfuscating the subjects in the name of defending Ethiopia whilst plotting their ways through to the throne.
This was the time during which the revolution has occurred between late 2014 and early 2018 culminating in the political change in the empire. The Amharas expansionist plotters did hardly waste time as they had an excellent opportunity therefore hijacked it easily using the Oromo adopted Pariah – who speaks afan Oromo but works contrary to the wishes and aspiration of the Oromo nation. Unfortunately, the change that was made possible with the huge sacrifices of mainly Oromo sons and daughter was hijacked in broad day light by the very anti-Oromo elements- the Amhara expansionists who are currently moving the empire a step toward cataclysmic disaster.
Amhara Expansionists Are Dismantling the Empire They Erroneously Assert Are Saving It.
Fully occupying the palace in Finfinnee (also known as Addis Ababa by the settlers); Amhara elites and their Oromo messengers (including delusional and inapt PM) are taking the empire closer to its destruction by inciting violence, protracted civil strife, full-scale government orchestrated and stage-managed war on own citizens by forging alliance with the foreign countries. Currently, Amhara elites manoeuvred government and its ill-intentioned war on citizens is dehumanising civilians whilst decimating their resources for example in Tigray, Oromia, Benshangul-Gumuz, Agaw, Kemant and elsewhere in the empire.
The Amhara expansionists claim they are fighting to save Ethiopia by committing genocide and crimes against humanity on citizens as it is unfolding in the entire indicated regional states where the population is left to starve to death by blocking access to food and other essentials such as medicines and other necessities (note Tigray and the other indicated states). Furthermore, evidence show that Amhara elites train, dispatch, assign, and stage manage assassins who execute civilians including Amhara settlers in the occupied lands of the subjects to have an excuse to continue with their military attack of the regions such as the case in various parts of vast Oromia where Amhara assassins kill civilians and put the blame on Oromo Liberation Army (OLA). The was also the case in Sidama between June 2018 and July 18, 2019, where over 247 Sidama were executed under such Amhara elites heinous arrangements and put the blame on Sidama.
Furthermore, Amhara elites erroneous blame become routine as they control state medias to use it for the indicated deception and misleading of the uninformed mass of the empire whilst waging war on citizens, masterminding and staging managing conflicts in various parts of the empire ascribing the causes for these all to the Ethiopian constitution, ethnic based federalism and the TPLF and Oromo nation for being instrumental in making the constitution possible.
The elites are increasingly engrossed with their erroneous belief that they are fighting to save Ethiopia by eliminating the subjects making up the empire. With such obdurate and absurd assertion that defies sane belief, the Amhara elites led regime from Finfinnee is wreaking havoc in the indicated regions predominately and in entire empire in general to make the empire dangerous place for her civilians. Doing so is totally dismantling social fabrics that are loosely stitches the citizens together thereby eroding the possibility of peaceful coexistence of nations side by side as equal citizens- making the dreams of both blocs extremely irreconcilable predominately due to an obdurate attitude of Amhara elites.
Conclusion
Whilst the above argument is based on factual evidence, the Puffs and Huffs of Amhara Fascists is still fierce as they aerial bomb to indiscriminately kill unarmed civilians and wage full scale war in Oromia and the other indicated states. They are proving to be inconsistent with the aspirations of nations of the empire by demanding the restoration of the brutal and archaic monarch system. The ongoing war on Tigray, Oromia, Agaw, Benshangul Gumuz, Kemant and the continued arial bombardment of unarmed civilians in Tigray never brings solutions but exacerbates already existing divergence and obliges the nations of the empire to seek an alternative arrangement possibly out of the Ethiopian empire unless Amhara expansionists are forced to change their obdurate mentality and erroneous assertions.
Finally, the sheer level of Amhara elites ignorance as they facilitate the means for empires destruction is the biggest idiosyncrasy of the century. This is coupled with their obsession with One-Culture-One-Language-One-Religion and their anti-nations rights to self-determination and anti-constitution sentiment is playing key role that is nearing their inevitable demise and the destruction of the empire they claim are fighting to save. Unless the Amharas fascist elites accept the fact that all nations deserve their rights to self -determination and equality for once and all; all nations must stand shoulder to shoulder to fight for their rights in unison to ensure the burial of Amhara elites anti-nations and anti-constitution sentiments.
Therefore, the Amhara elites who are currently wreaking havoc in the empires various regions to put the blame on those nations fighting for their very survival – will have no choice but concede that their nostalgic empire never returns. Instead, they must stop their war of territorial expansion by swallowing the fact that the end to their delusional dreams of One-Culture-One-Language-One-Religion has already unfolded. Therefore, to achieve the rights of nations to genuine self-rule and dignity; the unity of all nations and nationalist forces in Ethiopia is paramount important. Doing so also shortens the time of suffering for all nations mainly currently subjected to genocide, siege, state terrorism and full-scale conventional war that is denying the subjects of the means of survival whilst waging war to remain in power. Globally, mankind must join us in denouncing the barbaric actions of Amhara elites led Ethiopian regime to unarmed civilians whilst keeping Tigray under siege and in demanding them to unconditionally stop their war on citizens of the empire.
