Iran has sent Mohajer-6 drones to Ethiopia, the US said. The Deputy Spokesperson of the US Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated yesterday, Tuesday 18/2022, that the Islamic Republic of Iran has sent an unmanned warplane to Ethiopia a year ago. Spokesman Vedant Patel also said, in addition to Ethiopia, Iran also sent drones to Russia, which invaded Ukraine. “Iran sent drones to the two countries in violation of UN Security Council Resolution 2231,” he said. The spokesman added that the United States has informed the United Nations that Iran has sent unmanned warplanes to Russia. According to the Security Council Resolution 2231, Iran cannot transfer technological products, resources and materials to other countries unless it receives the prior permission of the UN Security Council. The spokesman also said that “Codes Aviation”, one of the manufacturers of the drones, has been banned from operating its assets under the resolution. “All countries should freeze the assets of this company,” said Vedant Patel.
