The Oromia National Regional State (ONRS) has pledged up to one billion birr in financial and in-kind assistance for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of Tigray.
Accordingly, the Head of the Oromia Regional Agriculture Bureau, Getu Gemechu, delivered 30 new tractors equipped with GPS to Mekelle and handed them over to the leadership of the Tigray Agriculture and Natural Resources Development Bureau.
Head of the Oromia Regional Agriculture Bureau, Getu Gemechu, said the aid will continue to be intensified. Getu said, he is honored to be by the side of the people of Tigray at a time when they are in dire straits. Head of the Chief Secretariat of the Interim Administration of Tigray, Mr. Amanuel Assefa, praised the people and administration of Oromia Region for their assistance to Tigray.
They are implementing the various assistance provided by the people and administration of Oromia Regional State according to their commitments and this assistance will further strengthen the relationship between the people and government of Tigray and the people and government of Oromia Regional State.
Head of the Tigray Agriculture and Natural Resources Development Bureau, Dr. Eyasu Abrha, said the tractors will play an important role in improving agriculture in Tigray and increasing income.
Other states should help Tigray as per their promises, he said.
