In response to concerns raised by health professionals in the Tigray region, the interim administration has pledged to take all possible measures to address their economic and social challenges within the region’s capacity.<\/p>\n
Following a formal letter submitted by health professionals to the regional health office, the interim administration\u2019s president, Lieutenant General Tadesse Werede, announced that discussions have been ongoing since May 13, 2025. These talks have involved representatives from nine health associations in the region, as well as officials from relevant regional departments.<\/p>\n
On May 30, 2025, a summary discussion was held, bringing together the interim administration and all key stakeholders. In a subsequent statement, the administration revealed that an “almost complete” agreement had been reached regarding the proposed solutions.<\/p>\n
However, the statement noted that two issues remain open for further review should better alternatives be presented. Additionally, the administration has established a committee comprising deputy department heads, senior experts, and representatives from all health associations in the region. This committee was formed under the directives of the president to thoroughly examine and address the concerns.<\/p>\n
The president\u2019s office confirmed that after four days of extensive consultations, a written resolution outlining the issues and solutions has been finalized, taking into account the region\u2019s actual capabilities and conditions.<\/p>\n
The committee was then tasked with presenting and explaining the proposed solutions in detail to the President of the Tigray Interim Administration and the heads of relevant departments. According to the statement, the recommendations were accepted.<\/p>\n
The Interim Administration of Tigray expressed its respect and gratitude for the dedication of health professionals, acknowledging their invaluable service to the people and the nation despite the challenges they face.<\/p>\n\n
