The administration warned that the move violates the Constitution and jeopardizes the Pretoria Peace Agreement.<\/p>\n<p>In its statement, the administration emphasized that the people of Tigray, through years of struggle and sacrifice alongside other marginalized groups, played a leading role in establishing Ethiopia\u2019s federal democratic system \u2014 one designed to guarantee equality for all citizens.<\/p>\n<p>However, the administration warned that this system has been repeatedly violated. It pointed to atrocities and acts of violence already committed against the Tigrayan people, and now, a new decision that it claims directly threatens the internationally recognized constitutional boundaries of the region.<\/p>\n<p>The Interim Administration described the resolution as illegitimate, noting that it was passed by a council \u201clacking the representation and voice of the Tigrayan people.\u201d The administration cautioned that the move could have grave and far-reaching consequences, urging immediate reconsideration and reversal of what it called a \u201cdangerous path.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This strong response followed the House of Federation\u2019s directive to the National Election Board to conduct elections outside the Tigray Regional State until disputes are resolved in five constituencies. According to the Constitution, these constituencies are part of Tigray, but they are currently under the control of federal government\u2013backed militants. The areas in question include Humera, Adiremets, Tselemti, Korem, Ofla, and Raya Alamata.<\/p>\n<p>The statement concluded with a call for respect of constitutional order and adherence to agreements
