According to the report, Abdelati reaffirmed Cairo\u2019s support for Sudan\u2019s national institutions and emphasized that efforts to resolve the conflict must prioritize strengthening state structures and advancing a Sudanese\u2011led political process.<\/p>\n<p>Abdelati underscored the importance of preserving Sudan\u2019s sovereignty, warned against external interference that could prolong the conflict, and reiterated Egypt\u2019s firm opposition to the creation of rival administrations.<\/p>\n<p>The minister also called for a humanitarian truce as a step toward a comprehensive ceasefire, aimed at facilitating aid delivery and easing civilian suffering. He condemned attacks on civilians as violations of international humanitarian law and stressed the need to protect critical infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>Abdelati added that Egypt is actively engaged in diplomatic efforts at both regional and international levels\u2014including through the African Union Peace and Security Council\u2014to help de\u2011escalate tensions and revive an inclusive political process.<\/p>\n<p>Haavisto, for his part, said his recent visits to Khartoum and Port Sudan focused on assessing the humanitarian situation and exploring ways to reduce tensions.
