It is unusual for an Ethiopian Synod’s meeting not to be opened by a patriarch’s statement. Today, however, the patriarch was refused to read their opening talks. The Ethiopian bishops did not want anything from their patriarch, simply because the patriarch – his Holiness Abune Mathias preaches about peace and togetherness. This is because most of the Ethiopian Bishops have been war lords in the last 2 – 3 years in the devastating genocidal war in Tigray. We all need to let the world know that these kind of people are those who are destroying the country, Ethiopia. Ethiopians should also be aware of this.

The Patriarch’s statement that was refused to be read at the opening session is attached below!
