Australian Ambassador to Ethiopia, Julia Niblett, today met with President Getachew Reda to discuss various issues.
During the meeting, they discussed about the humanitarian crisis in Tigray, the infrastructures in Tigray after the Pretoria Agreement, and the current situation of displaced persons and disarmament demobilization and reintegration (DDR)process. The discussion also covered initiatives to draw foreign investment to Tigray and the interim administration’s position on this matter, as reported by Tigray television.
During her visit, Ambassador Julia Niblett toured the Ayder Referral Hospital and the Hamlin Fistula Hospital. She also expressed Australia’s interest in investing in the agricultural sector of Tigray.
Australia had been a prominent voice in the international community calling for an end to the genocide in Tigray.
