Over 297 million Birr and nearly 151 million dollars’ worth of assets from various Ethiopian government institutions have been suspended and are under investigation.

A total of 46 houses, 1 building, 86 vehicles, and 81 thousand square meters of land have been seized and frozen.

During the Stakeholder Cooperation Forum meeting held yesterday on November 6, 2024 it was revealed that the Joint Plan Performance Evaluation Discussion uncovered the suspension of over 297 million Birr and 151 million dollars’ worth of resources from different government entities.

The report presented during the forum’s three-year audit highlighted the suspension of assets, including 46 houses, 1 building, 86 vehicles, shares totaling 2.5 million Birr, and 81 thousand square meters of land holdings.

The Addis Standard reported that the audit findings identified several issues, including cash shortages, accounts being in arrears for over 10 years, failure to collect government revenue in accordance with laws, and making payments that do not comply with legal requirements.
