Peaceful demonstrations were held in several districts and zones, demanding the implementation of decisions made by the Tigray People’s Conference, the TPLF, and senior leaders of the Tigray Army.

The peaceful demonstrations took place in the Eastern Zone, including Adigrat, Wuqro, Hawzen, Gule Mekeda, Atsbi, and other cities and districts. In the Central Zone, demonstrations occurred in Adwa, Aksum, Abi Adi, Maiqnetal, and other locations. The Northwestern Zone saw large peaceful demonstrations in Sheraro, Shire, and other cities and districts, with evacuees participating.

Protesters carried various slogans, calling for the urgent implementation of the Pretoria agreement, the decisions made by the top leaders of the Tigray Army, the TPLF’s resolutions, and the outcomes of the Tigray People’s Conferences. They also demanded the return of displaced people to their homes, urgent adjustments to the Interim administration, and the return of Tigray territories occupied by invading forces.

It is remembered that at the end of 2020, following the genocidal war launched against the people of Tigray, millions were displaced from West Tigray. West Tigray remains under the control of Amhara forces, and these displaced people are scattered across various areas of Tigray and Sudan, suffering from hunger and lack of assistance.

Meanwhile, during their recent meeting, the top leaders of the Tigray Army acknowledged the TPLF, which conducted its 14th congress under the leadership of Dr. Debretsion Gebremichael. They affirmed their commitment to effectively implementing the congress’s resolutions.

Similarly, the TPLF had been announced that officials who had been dismissed since the congress and those in the leadership of the interim administration, including President Getachew Reda, should be replaced. The interim administration should be adjusted in accordance with the Pretoria agreement and the TPLF’s share in the administration. The TPLF has been repeatedly calling for the implementation of these measures.
