Ambassador Jens Hanefeld, the German Ambassador to Ethiopia, stated that the current period presents challenges for humanitarian aid activities at the international level. However, he assured that the government of the Federal Republic of Germany will continue its support to Ethiopia, according to Addis Standard.

He added that Germany has allocated €50 million to be used for humanitarian work through the United Nations Women’s Agency, UNICEF, and UNHCR in Ethiopia. He acknowledged the significant contribution of the German government in supporting the United Nations’ efforts to assist these migrants and local communities. Mbogori also mentioned that the migrants will be able to obtain legal documents such as national identity cards and access basic services, including education.
