Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Holds Talks with Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud in Addis Ababa.
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) announced that he held talks with the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, who paid a one-day working visit to Addis Ababa.
“We held a productive working lunch, continuing the discussions held over the past year and building on the progress made in strengthening our bilateral cooperation,” the Prime Minister said in a post on his official Facebook page.
He added that the talks “reaffirmed our commitment to advancing our common priorities and to strong ties, regional stability, and development.”
Prime Minister Abiy made the remarks following a meeting in Mogadishu with Somali Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Abdisalam Abdi Ali, and Ethiopian Ambassador to Somalia, Suleiman Dedefo. The discussions focused on further strengthening relations and regional cooperation between the two countries.
During the high-level meeting, officials from both sides explored ways to enhance strategic cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, and economic development.
They also emphasized joint efforts to maintain peace and security in the Horn of Africa and underscored the importance of a coordinated response to regional challenges, including terrorism, transnational crime, and political instability.
