Sudan Accuses Ethiopia of Drone Strikes, Calls Violation of Sovereignty
— Sudan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has accused Ethiopia of violating its sovereignty after detecting drones crossing into Sudanese territory and striking targets inside the country.
In a statement issued Monday, March 2, 2026, the ministry said Sudanese authorities had monitored repeated drone incursions from Ethiopian territory throughout February and into early March. The government described the activity as “hostile behavior” and “a blatant violation of Sudanese sovereignty,” calling it an outright act of aggression.
The statement warned Ethiopia of “the consequences of these hostile acts” and affirmed Sudan’s right to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity. Officials stressed that Sudan would confront such attacks “by various means and methods” if they continue.
The ministry, in a statement released in Arabic, reiterated that Sudan has the right to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity and possesses the capacity to respond “in various ways.”
Meanwhile, Sudan’s army, led by Gen. Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, has accused Ethiopia of supporting the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), which are engaged in a civil war 0against the Sudanese military.
Last month, Reuters reported—citing multiple sources and satellite imagery—that Ethiopia had established a training camp for RSF fighters near its border with Sudan.
