Subject: Briefing by the Government of the Regional State of Tigray on the Current Situation

As previously reported, the genocidal Prosperity Party regime launched an open military offensive against the Tigray Security Forces in the vicinity of Shererina, Western Tigray. Forces belonging to Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF), led by Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo (“Hemedti”), together with other armed groups operating in the area, participated in the offensive.

From dawn until late afternoon, the regime’s army launched repeated human-wave assaults, deploying various ground forces and employing air power. Nevertheless, the gallant Tigray Security Forces, steadfast in their noble mission and guided by the solemn pledge, “We shall not dishonor the sacrifices of our martyrs,” successfully repelled the offensive and thwarted the regime’s aggressive objectives.

Through their courage, discipline, and determination, our security forces have once again written a historic chapter that will be remembered by generations to come. They deserve the highest recognition and honor for their extraordinary heroism.

The human-wave tactics employed by the regime’s forces and their collaborators resulted in extensive casualties. Medical centers and hospitals stretching from Western Tigray to Gondar are said to be overwhelmed with wounded soldiers. In an apparent attempt to conceal the scale of its losses, the regime has continued to transport many of its wounded personnel by air to other parts of the country.

The Prosperity Party regime has repeatedly demonstrated that it will stop at nothing in its campaign against the people of Tigray. There is every reason to believe that it may soon attempt similar human-wave offensives on other fronts. The people of Tigray possess the inherent and lawful right to defend their survival, security, sovereignty, and right to self-determination.

Both world history and our own experience demonstrate how a struggle between destruction and survival ultimately ends. There can be no doubt that our people, united and resolute, will overcome this unwarranted aggression and emerge victorious.
