Ethiopian Airlines flight ET248, en route from Addis Ababa to Dire Dawa, was reported to have experienced smoke inside the aircraft upon landing at Dire Dawa airport today. The airline has confirmed that all passengers disembarked safely and has stated that the cause of the smoke is currently being investigated. The aircraft landed without incident, and the airline has issued an apology to the passengers for any inconvenience caused.
This is not the first time smoke has been reported on an Ethiopian Airlines flight. Previously, a plane traveling from Hawassa to Addis Ababa also had smoke detected. However, the aircraft landed at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport without any damage, and all passengers safely exited the plane. It was later determined that the smoke was due to oil burning in the plane.
Today, Ethiopian Airlines announced that an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the smoke on flight number ET248 from Addis Ababa to Dredawa.
