Sudan: RSF Accused of Killing Over 2,000 Civilians in El-Fasher Massacre.
— Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have reportedly killed more than 2,000 civilians in a large-scale massacre in the city of El-Fasher in recent days, according to multiple sources.
Emerging accounts allege that the RSF has committed ethnically motivated mass killings and other atrocities since seizing control of El-Fasher, the capital of North Darfur state, over the weekend.
A video released by local activists appears to show an armed RSF fighter—allegedly known for repeated attacks on civilians—firing at unarmed individuals at close range. Another unverified video circulating on social media shows dozens of bodies lying beside burned-out vehicles.
In a statement issued Tuesday, forces aligned with the Sudanese army accused the paramilitary group of killing more than 2,000 civilians during the recent assault.
Yale University’s Center for Human Rights Research, which has been monitoring the conflict using open-source intelligence, satellite imagery, and social media analysis, reported evidence consistent with claims of mass killings attributed to the RSF.
The situation in El-Fasher remains volatile, with humanitarian organizations expressing grave concern over escalating violence and the deliberate targeting of civilian populations
