Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has announced the departure of Getachew Reda from his position as President of the Interim Administration of the Tigray Region.

In a farewell message written in Tigrigna, PM Abiy acknowledged the federal government’s recognition of the interim administration, which has been in place for the past two years. He commended Getachew Reda’s leadership and caution in maintaining peace following the Pretoria Peace Agreement.

The Prime Minister expressed gratitude for Getachew Reda’s contributions during his tenure and stated his intention to collaborate with him in the future
